Dear Friends,

The Saint Louis Science Center will be offering a Vex Robotics Camp this summer during the weeks of July 9-13 and August 6-10.  This camp will be open to students entering 6th through 12th grade. During this camp students will learn how to design, build and program their own robot using the Vex robotics Kit. The week's excitement will include a filed trip to a robotics research lab and end with a real FIRST robotics style competition. I am hoping that with this camp we will be able to spark local interest in the Vex Robotics program and the FIRST Vex Challenge.

I have attached a flyer with information about the camp which can be
handed out to students, parents, or teachers interested in robotics.

(See attached file: Robotics_Summer_Camp.doc)

If you have any questions about the camp please feel free to contact me.

Technology Education Association of Missouri and the University of Central Missouri; College of Applied Sciences & Technology would like to extend this invitation to all teachers to attend the Annual Fall Round up.  We feel our professional development workshops will meet the needs of Indutrial Technology, Project Lead the Way, Math, Science and Pre Engineering Technology Teachers.  Join Us.

4:30 – 6:30         TEAM EXECUTIVE BOARD MTG.

Dear Fellow Teachers

We as an organization have made great improvements in our workshops the past two years.  Last year’s fall conference was one of the best we have had in several years.

Please attend this year’s fall conference and encourage other teachers in your department to attend.  ALSO, we all know other teachers in other schools so lets us contact them and encourage them to attend.  Improving your communication with fellow teachers only aids your program and gives you someone else in the profession to talk too.  Several of us teach in schools where we are the only one in the department, so it is nice to have fellow teachers to communicate with.

So let us set a record for TEAM Fall Conference attendance.  Contact other teachers in your area and even car pool to the conference.  What fun you can have fellowshipping with other teachers on the way to the conference and on the way home.

***Please check the TEAM website (www.moteam.org) for current information about the conferenceWe are trying to set up a couple extra workshops clear till the week before the conference so there will be plenty of workshops to choose from.

*****Please note that the TEAM Executive Board voted this summer that TEAM dues will be due by November 1, 2006.   If your students want to participate in any TEAM contest or activity your dues must be paid by November 1st (any questions about this can be directed to Mark Rathert, TEAM President).

******Dues are also now combined with MOACTE dues.  You must join MOACTE and TEAM together ($38 total).  TEAM is a division of MOACTE so we must pay both dues.

We as TEAM need ALL:  Industrial Arts, Industrial Technology, Technology Education, and PLTW teachers in the state to join TEAM.  As we increase our membership the more and better workshops we can have and the more support we can get from DESE.

Be a professional and join TEAM today and get others to join as well.  Email Mark Arnold, TEAM Treasurer, to register for the conference and send Mark your TEAM dues today (marnold@thayer.k12.mo.us).

Thanks, and see you at the conference in Warrensburg on October 7th.  Register today and save $5.  Early registration is only $15 and at the door it is $20.
